Museums play an important part in preserving our history.
The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is working to preserve and collect items that tell the local story of the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you have correspondence, social media posts, journals, photos, videos or similar items that document the personal aspects of our Bruce County experience, please consider submitting them!
Your stories of toilet paper shortages, images of creative social-distancing interactions, and lesson plans for teaching from home will make the history of the COVID-19 pandemic come alive for future researchers interested in understanding how we felt, struggled, coped and thrived during that time. These items may also play a role in future Museum exhibits reflecting the COVID-19 time period.
Share Your Experiences
Are you a local business owner? How was your business impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic?
- How did the pandemic change your daily or weekly schedules and routines? (For example, homeschooling, work, leisure, shopping, holidays, birthdays, visiting families in long term care, and life events)
- What changes, if any, did you notice in your community? (closures, community support, acts of kindness)
Doctors, nurses, emergency responders, grocery/retail employees – what was your experience working through the pandemic? Changes, challenges, positive moments – share your memories.
